We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator who is interested in
working in a permanent position in Mississauga, Ontario.
Job Details:
Provides support to end users and manage network operations and
support/maintain servers (mail, web, firewall, etc), desktops (Linux/
Windows) and corporate network including security, virus management,
onsite and offsite backups and recovery.
Manage voice and data connectivity; install, configure, maintenance
and troubleshoot servers and workstations (PCs and laptops) hardware,
software and peripheral devices;
Continuously monitor the capacity and performance of the companys
IT resources: network, servers, storage, etc;
Develop appropriate information security procedures, checklists and
guidelines, standards and auditing tools for existing and emerging
Microsoft and Open Source technologies including IIS Server, Windows
2003, AD, etc., and outline and perform security audits of systems,
procedures, processes and configuration using standard techniques.
Writes detailed documentation, policies and procedures
documentation.
Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production,
malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and
address problems.
Develops and tests disaster recovery plans. - DRP
Trains users on software and equipment usage.
Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning
their access to resources on the network and the operation of various
software programs.
Develops and communicates standards for use, operations, and
security of network, personal computers, and data.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and
discretion, and responding to questions, comments and complaints from
internal and external customers in a calm, professional manner.

Skills Required
Key Competencies:
5 + years working experience in a Windows networking environment
(Windows 2000/2003 server, MS AD and Exchange 2003/2007); Working
knowledge of LDAP, ADSI, SID History, ACL and NTFS Permissions;
5+ years working experience in a UNIX networking environment (DNS,
MX, Sendmail, Postfix, Nagios, Iptables and Asterisk);
Technically proficient with System Imaging, recovery and backup
software. (Acronis, Ghost, Legato, BackupExec)
In depth working knowledge of networking technologies including
firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet or Checkpoint) TCP/IP, routers, switches,
DHCP, DNS, VPN and LAN security procedures;
Education and other Requirements:
DEC or Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology
Non-mandatory qualifications and selection criteria:
MCSE Certified
UNIX Certified
CCNA Certified
VOIP and Call Center experience
